Stormy pattern continues for one more day

It has been a wet and stormy pattern. Sunday night’s rainfall brought an even one inch of rainfall at MSP airport. It was the first rainfall of meteorological summer, which began on Saturday. Meteorological spring (March 1-May 31) was wet and warm. It was the warmest in the Twin Cities since 2016 and the wettest since 2019.

Tuesday is likely to bring more storms in the afternoon and evening. A couple of those storms could be strong to severe with more heavy rainfall potential. We’re then in for a mostly dry break for several days the rest of the week into the weekend and early next week.
