Currently in the Twin Cities — November 22, 2023: Cooling down for the long weekend

Plus, some big news ... on the road to building a weather service for everyone.

The weather, currently.

Cooling down for the long weekend

A regular roller coaster of temperatures is in store for the next 36 hours. Tuesday night will be chilly, in the 20s as clouds break up behind the recent cold front. Wednesday however will be briefly warmer again, in the upper 40s, possibly near 50 with partly cloudy skies. It will be breezy again from the southwest this time.

The next, more potent cold front swings through Wednesday evening (as advertised) dropping temperatures more significantly Thanksgiving into the weekend. Highs will be in the 30s and lows in the 20s and possibly our first teens (at MSP) early Friday and Saturday. Snow showers are possible Saturday night into Sunday.

Some big news,

We just launched Currently Weather Service's first public offering! We’re hoping to raise $10,000 between now and Small Business Saturday. Your investment will make the difference in building Currently into a driving force for climate justice.

Starting at $100, you can become a direct investor in Currently and help us move forward with confidence.

We decided to partner with Honeycomb because they’re a platform that allows small businesses like us to raise money from our community instead of a bank. However, we’re not asking for donations like a Kickstarter or a GoFundMe - you actually get to invest in us — and you will own a part of the work we do together.

Thank you so much for supporting our important work to continue building an innovative personalized weather service for the climate emergency.

What you can do, currently.

Everyone deserves to thrive. Everyone is worthy of a better world. That’s why we’re building a weather service for the climate emergency.

Currently’s new weather service is now live. In the weeks and months ahead, we’ll be continually adding more features and opening up more slots as we develop the service.

But for now, space is limited in the weather service because I want to make sure we can provide the highest quality service we possibly can while we work to refine the system with your input.

If you’d like to put your name on the waiting list, be sure to fill out our baseline survey if you haven’t already which will hold your spot in line.

Our goal — as always — is to co-create the most personalized, most informative weather service that exists. And, above all, to make this service accessible, equitable, and resilient enough to bring safety and joy to the climate emergency.
